Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup cooked chicken, shredded

½ cup cream cheese, softened to room temperature

½ cup ranch dressing

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

¼ cup green onions, finely chopped (optional)

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Cooking spray

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). To prepare your baking sheet, line it with parchment paper or lightly spray it with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Prepare the Filling: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, ranch dressing, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped green onions if you’re using them. Sprinkle in the garlic powder, onion powder, and season generously with salt and pepper. Mix all the ingredients together until they form a smooth and creamy filling.

Roll Out the Crescents: Carefully open the can of crescent roll dough. On a clean, dry surface, gently separate the dough into individual triangles, taking care not to tear them.

Fill the Crescents: For each crescent triangle, scoop a generous spoonful of the chicken filling and place it at the wide end of the triangle. Carefully roll the dough from the wide end toward the tip, tucking in the sides as you go to secure the filling within. Arrange the filled crescents on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them for even baking.

Add Egg Wash: Using a pastry brush, apply a light coat of the beaten egg on the tops of the crescents. This will give them a beautiful golden and shiny finish once baked.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes. Keep an eye on them, looking for a puffed-up shape and a lovely golden-brown color.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, carefully remove the crescents from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes. Serve warm, and consider pairing with extra ranch dressing for a delightful dipping experience. Enjoy these scrumptious bites as a tasty appetizer or a satisfying main dish!
