Ingredients

8 oz egg noodles

1 can (12 oz) tuna, drained and flaked

1 cup frozen peas

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 cup sour cream

1/2 cup milk

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

2 tablespoons olive oil (divided)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it's hot and ready for baking.

Cook the Noodles: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Once cooked, drain the noodles in a colander and set aside to cool slightly.

Mix the Casserole Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flaked tuna, frozen peas, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir everything together until the mixture is uniformly blended and creamy.

Combine with Noodles: Gently add the drained, cooked noodles to the tuna mixture. Use a spatula to fold the noodles in carefully until every noodle is coated with the delicious sauce.

Prepare the Baking Dish: Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with 1 tablespoon of olive oil to prevent sticking. Pour the tuna noodle mixture into the greased dish, spreading it out evenly across the bottom.

Add Cheese and Breadcrumbs: Evenly sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the noodle mixture. In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs with the remaining tablespoon of olive oil, mixing until the breadcrumbs are lightly coated. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the cheese layer to create a crunchy topping.

Bake the Casserole: Place the assembled casserole in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the top layer is golden brown and bubbling, signaling that it's ready to enjoy.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove the casserole from the oven and allow it to cool for about 5-10 minutes before serving. If desired, garnish with fresh parsley for a touch of color, then serve warm to enjoy the comforting flavors.
