8 oz pasta (choose from penne, fusilli, or rotini)

2 cups fresh broccoli florets

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

3 cloves garlic, finely minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for added heat)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnishing)

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta and Broccoli: In a large pot, bring salted water to a rolling boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package directions until al dente. When there are just 3 minutes left on the timer, add the fresh broccoli florets to the boiling water. Afterward, drain the pasta and broccoli and set them aside.

    Sauté Garlic: Return the empty pot to medium heat and warm the olive oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, stirring frequently, until the garlic becomes fragrant and turns a light golden brown.

      Prepare the Cream Sauce: Reduce the heat to low and carefully pour the heavy cream into the pot with the sautéed garlic, stirring gently to combine. Warm the cream for about 2 minutes, ensuring it does not reach a boil.
