Ingredients

4 tilapia fillets

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

¼ cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). To facilitate easy cleanup, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Coating: In a shallow dish, thoroughly combine the grated Parmesan cheese, panko breadcrumbs, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed for a balanced flavor.

Set Up the Breading Station: On a clean surface, prepare your breading station by placing the flour in one shallow dish and beating the eggs in a separate bowl.

Coat the Fish: Take one tilapia fillet and gently dredge it in the flour, tapping off any excess. Next, dip the floured fillet into the beaten eggs, allowing the excess to drip away. Finally, coat the fillet with the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture, pressing down gently to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere well.

Bake the Fish: Arrange the coated tilapia fillets on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced apart for even cooking. Place the sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and the crust is golden brown and crispy.

Prepare the Garlic Butter: While the tilapia bakes, melt the unsalted butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden, taking care to avoid burning the garlic.

Serve: Once the tilapia is perfectly baked, remove it from the oven and drizzle the warm garlic butter generously over each fillet. For an added touch, garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve with lemon wedges on the side to enhance the flavors.

Enjoy: Delight in your Parmesan-crusted tilapia while it’s still warm, accompanied by your choice of sides such as roasted vegetables or a crisp salad for a refreshing contrast.
